Living from the Heart Retreat
August, 2022

Why living from the heart?

Living in the world can often push us into mind-centeredness, which is very different from mindfulness. Our minds offer a limited, sometimes black and white, view of our lives. Our hearts provide the vibrancy of all the colors. Our peace and happiness depend upon how heart-centered we are.

How to live from the heart?

There are specific building blocks required for living from the heart, and building a fulfilling life. This workshop will include: the secrets of vulnerability; cultivating a deeper relationship with yourself; self-acceptance techniques (including acceptance of ALL your feelings); a heart-centered approach to living; a deeper connection with your inner child (so you can recognize exactly what you need); enhanced receptivity; and healing the old patterns that keep you stuck.

Ram Dass describes Joyce and Barry Vissell as a couple who live the yoga of love and devotion. They are two people growing in love since 1964, who have raised three children and “walk their talk.” Their model of relationship and deeply heart-oriented approach have made a unique impact upon many thousands of people’s lives. As a result of the world-wide interest in their books, they speak and teach about relationship, parenting and personal growth.

“From the perspectives of romance, marriage, making love, parenting, careers, spiritual initiation, and loss of a loved one, this remarkable couple exhibits insight, acceptance and transcendence, at the same time offering specific tools for the transformational process of love.”  —Yoga Journal

“I can’t think of anything more important to the healing of our society than a connection between spirituality, relationship and parenthood. Bravo to the Vissells for helping us find the way.”          —Marianne Williamson
